Gundog training lessons are available at our training grounds in East Northamptonshire (nearest postcode PE28 5LU).
Whether you are looking to train your dog for picking up, beating, rough shooting or as a peg dog, we can help you achieve your ambition. If you would like to get involved in the competitive world of field trials and working tests, or if you would just like something enjoyable and rewarding for your pet dog, then get in touch - we would be delighted to help!
Matt has been training dogs for the shooting field since his teenage years. In 1997 he purchased his first gundog as an adult, and has been training his own dogs ever since. Within a short time, Matt was asked to help other people train their dogs, and he has been offering individual and group training since the turn of the millennium.
He has trained many of his own labradors, springer and cocker spaniels for both the shooting and competition arena. He also has extensive experience of working with clients dogs from across the spectrum of different breeds including HPR breeds.
Matt has competed in both field trials and working tests for many years for both retrievers and spaniels, and judges retriever trials.
We firmly believe that gundog training should be fun for both the owner and the dog. We therefore promote positive training methods and avoid harsh handling methods in any lessons.
One to one training
Individual training lessons are available during weekdays and Sundays. Light permitting, evening lessons are available during the week. Lessons last approximately an hour and are £40. Matt will work with you to identify your ambitions for the dog, along with the strengths and weaknesses of both dog and handler.
Group training
We offer various group classes depending on the time of year. We have a number of groups to suit the standard of dog and handler. Please get in touch to find out what groups are currently available.
Please get in touch via our Contact Page if you would like to arrange training sessions.
